Availability Philosophy
Our Availability Philosophy
First-Year Students
The earlier you apply, the more choices you have. In general, room assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis based on the date we receive your housing down payment. We guarantee every first-year housing applicant who pays the down payment by May 1 will receive a bed space the next academic year.
We try our best to accommodate your preferences. Approximately 1,600 beds of the 3,200 available are held for first-year students who have assignment priority in these suite and apartment complexes: Cabernet, Sauvignon, Verdot, and Zinfandel. We maintain a wait-list in the event that spaces open up. If you opt out of the wait-list, you will lose your place and priority.
Sophomore and Above Students
If you’re a current residential student, transfer student, or non-traditional student, your options of Beaujolais, Sauvignon, or Tuscany are on a space-available basis. If you apply before the priority deadline, you can select roommates and your housing assignment for the next academic year. In order to do so, prior semester account balance(s) must be paid. For example, a student applying in Spring for the next academic year must have paid all housing and meal plan charges from the previous fall semester (and any previous terms).
After the priority deadline, housing options may be limited, but we will make every effort to help you find a space in these locations or alternative options located close to campus.
Returning Residential Students
Welcome back! Whether you have traveled abroad, completed an internship, taken a year off, or transferred to another school, we are glad you’re here. If you have not lived on campus for a semester or more, you’re eligible to live in Beaujolais, Sauvignon, or Tuscany on a space-available basis.
Graduate Students
Graduate students are welcome to apply for spaces in Beaujolais, Sauvignon, or Tuscany apartments, which house sophomore and above undergraduate students.
