Welcome Home!
Below is a guide to help you get settled into your new home.
Loading/Unloading and Moving In:
Temporarily stop your vehicle by your village and unload your belongings. Do not leave your vehicle unattended. As soon as your vehicle is unloaded, relocate it to Long Term Parking. See the "Parking & Parking Permits" below for additional information.
Trash & Cardboard Recycling:
Please bring broken down/flattened empty boxes and trash to the large dumpsters located in the parking lots. The small litter receptacles are intended for litter only – not room trash & recycling. Reminder: all plastic bags and styrofoam are not recyclable and must go in the trash dumpsters.
Respect Roommates Who Have Yet to Arrive:
Please don’t take over the entire bedroom or suite and occupy space that is not yours. Please keep the suite and apartment clean and organized so that your housemates can also have a pleasant move-in experience when they get here.
Room Information
How do I get into my room?
Your student ID card will be your “key” to your residence. The front door requires dual authentication (swipe with ID card and enter the issued PIN Code followed by “#”). If you do not have a valid ID card, you have been issued a temp card until you obtain your SSU ID Card – which can be done through Seawolf Service Center located in Salazar Hall. Temporary cards issued at check-in are valid until August 31. You will need to transfer your room information from the temp card to your SSU ID BEFORE then. View how to use the electronic lock.
Something is not clean, broken/does not work, and/or is missing from my room. How can I get this taken care of?
Room Condition Form
Prior to unpacking, take a few minutes to access the online room condition form to identify any pre-occupancy “damage conditions” so that you are not charged for these damages when you check-out of the room. Check that the furniture inventory published on the online form is accurate; record any missing items on the Room Condition Form. Complete within 7 days of your Move-In. If you do not complete the room condition form, we will consider your space in acceptable condition and you will be held responsible for the cost to repair any or all damages.
Damages, Cleaning Issues or Missing Furniture:
Please submit a work order! You can place work orders online 24/7 from your computer, phone, or other devices. Type SSU Fixit in the SSU search box or go to Facilities Management home page to place a work order. If any of the windows or doors cannot be locked, please submit a work order promptly. Additional information about maintenance of your residence can be found on our maintenance resource webpage.
If the problem poses a security risk, is actively causing property damage, or is a life-safety hazard, please call the REACH immediately or your on-call RA after hours.
What type of cleaning service is provided?
Community meeting spaces and laundry rooms are cleaned by the University's custodial staff. Residents are responsible for the cleanliness of their bedroom/bathroom and common space in their residence.
What if I want to move my furniture?
Students may rearrange their furniture to fit their preferences. Please remember, before moving out, all furniture must be returned to its original arrangement. However, beds may not be reconfigured and furniture should not be dismantled.
Additional Information
Parking:
Fall Move In Only: In order to accommodate residents moving in during the Move In on August 15, there will be some restricted parking areas around the residential community. If your vehicle is parked in a restricted area, your vehicle is subject to a citation and may be towed at your expense. Please call Parking Services at (707) 664-2143 if you have any questions.
Parking Permits:
We recommend you obtain your parking permit online. You will need to print out the temporary permit and display it in your vehicle until you receive your decal. Parking permits are required year-round; there are no “grace periods”. All parking regulations, including timed zones, disabled zones, and no parking areas are enforced. Parking permits are available online through the SSU Online Services (click on the parking tile). Parking permits for Fall are available starting August 1. Until you purchase a Parking permit, you must purchase daily passes and park in general parking lots.

Living on campus allows you to connect directly to the campus network and internet from your residence. Wireless networking is available in all buildings of the Residential Community. Please see IT’s student get started website for further information.
Residents receive XFINITY On Campus which allows residents to stream live TV and XFINITY On Demand wireless through laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Xfinity On Campus supports watching live TV, DVR, and On Demand content via a Roku XFINITY Stream beta channel. Residents will sign in using their SSU username and password to gain access to their favorite programming and thousands of On Demand shows and movies.
Visit this website for additional information on XFINITY TV.
General information about connecting to the wireless network can be found on the hub page, here:

For most devices (computers, phones, tablets), they should connect to SSU-SECURE. Instructions on how to connect to SSU-SECURE for most common devices / operating systems are listed on the hub page.
For devices that won't/ can't connect to SSU-SECURE because they don't support the wireless security protocol (e.g., gaming consoles and smart TV's), users can register their device and then connect it to ssu-blue:

There are multiple laundry facilities located in the residential community. There is no charge for residents to use the laundry rooms. Locations:
- Verdot Village - next to Chenin Blanc near the parking lot and in the Sangiovese Building
- Sauvignon Village - in the Colombard, Fume Blanc and Grenache buildings

As soon as the semester begins, your SSU ID Card will also function as your meal access card if you have a meal plan. Experience various flavors, quality food, and beverages at our dining locations. Whether you are in the mood for signature coffee featuring Starbucks classics, Mongolian-style BBQ, street tacos, or just some classic American favorites, you will find what you’re looking for! You'll also be able to order your favorites from the Grubhub campus mobile app when venues open. Prior to classes beginning, you can dine on campus at SIP, Lobos or GrubHub which accept cash or credit/debt cards. For more information about what is open and meal plans, please visit the Culinary Services website.
What is the difference between Dining Dollars and Wolfbucks?
Dining Dollars
The meal plan includes a designated amount of a declining balance credit for each semester called Dining Dollars. Dining Dollars can be used at any dining location on campus. When making a food purchase, simply present your Seawolf ID Card to the cashier and let them know you would like to pay with Dining Dollars. The amount of your purchase is then deducted from your Dining Dollar balance.
Wolfbucks
The WolfBucks program is a debit-based card system that virtually eliminates the need to carry cash on campus! Simply deposit funds into your account, and enjoy the convenience of being able to make purchases at participating locations by swiping your Seawolf I.D. card!
