Housing Questions for All Students

When will Fall 2020 Housing plans be finalized?

All CSU campuses must receive approval from the Chancellor's Office regarding Fall 2020 housing. REACH has submitted preliminary plans and are awaiting approval. Once plans are finalized, we will update our website.

What are the plans for Spring 2021?

We anticipate being able to house additional students; however, we will make a final decision after the fall semester is underway.

Where and how do I provide REACH with my housing intention for Fall 2020?

Starting at 4:00 p.m. on June 8, students will be able to log onto the ResidentWeb to notify REACH of their intention for on-campus housing for Fall 2020. Please click here for additional instructions.

Will students be able to purchase a meal plan or will a meal plan be required?

Dining services will be scaled to address actual occupancy of Campus Housing. Students will utilize apartment kitchens as their primary source for personal meal preparation. We will have limited food service options open on campus. We will also have Lobo's Pantry open on campus.

I want to cancel my housing application for Fall 2020.

Please complete the Fall 2020 Housing Intent Survey indicating that you do not plan to live on campus for Fall 2020.

With the recent announcement from the President of the University, REACH has amended the housing cancellation policy to reflect the following:

  • The Housing Down Payment be refunded in full (100%) to students who canceled in writing May 12, 2020 through June 30, 2020.
  • Students who cancel in writing July 1, 2020 to July 15, 2020 will be credited 50% of the Housing Down Payment.
  • No refunds after July 15, 2020.

Can I cancel my housing for Fall 2020 and receive a refund?

Please complete the Fall 2020 Housing Intent Survey indicating that you do not plan to live on campus for Fall 2020.

Can I cancel my housing and apply the housing down payment to Spring 2021 if I choose to live on campus for spring?

Yes.  Please complete the Fall 2020 Housing Intent Survey to indicate that you will not be living on campus for Fall 2020 and that you would like to move your Fall Housing Down Payment to Spring 2021.  By doing this you will be canceling your Fall 2020 application for on campus housing and will be applying for Spring 2021.

Will I be allowed to bring guests to my residence?

Our guest policy is under review and will likely will be amended for Fall 2020 to promote social distancing.

If I live on campus for Fall 2020, will I be sharing a bedroom with someone?

No. Each student will be assigned to a bedroom and a bathroom. Depending on the floor plan, you may be sharing a kitchen and living room with others, but NOT a bedroom or bathroom.

What is the cost to live on campus?

The fall semester housing rate will be $4,722, and does not include a meal plan.

We are hopeful that we will be able to increase our community capacity for Spring 2021, which would allow us to revert back to the Spring 2021 rate previously published.  This would mean that if you were assigned to a single room for Fall 2020 and stay in that room for Spring 2021, you will go from paying a double rate to a single rate.  The same holds true if you were assigned to a triple room for Fall 2020.  If you stay in that triple room for Spring 2021, you will pay the triple rate (and live with other students in the room).

We recommend you view the rate schedule for 2020/2021 so you are familiar with the costs.

If I live on campus for Fall 2020, do I live on campus for Spring 2021?

Yes, you are signing a binding contract for a full academic year and agreeing to be assigned to a bedspace on campus (not a specific room type).  It is important to be aware that your room assignment/occupancy for Spring 2021 may differ from Fall 2020 depending on finalized plans for Spring.  For example, if you are assigned to a triple room by yourself for Fall 2020 and the university is able to repopulate to full capacity for Spring 2021, you will be assigned roommates in that triple room.

Residents who want to move off campus for Spring 2021 will need to following the Request to Break the Housing License Agreement, which will be reviewed by a committee.
